Just go to a department store and get a complimentary makeover. They teach you the tricks and send you home with some samples.
Ok first of all:

1. Wash your face with warm water to rid of any excess dirt in your skin, then dry with a bath towel or flannel.

2. You should put on moisturiser before applying make-up it make it glide on easier and makes your skin softer i use Neutrogena Oil free Moisturiser it only cost aroun 拢2.50 and has lasted me around 6 months if you can you should really use an OIL free moisturiser.

3. To apply Foundation first find the brand and colour that matches your skin tone if your not too sure ask store assistants or take a friend or your mum for help on which to chose, if you have a liquid foundation then you should apply it to your face using a foundation bruch as it gives a more 'Flawless' movie star affect but you can also apply it easily enough with your fingers or a foundation sponge just make sure that whatever you use is clean first, If you are using a Mousse foundation like Dream Matte Mousse i find it easier to apply this sort of foundation just using my fingers as i find a foundation brush leaves streaks, when i apply my Foundation i find it somehow easier by applying it to my cheeks first then under my eyes then my eyelids and then to my nose then my chin then my fore-head and under my chin a little making sure that it has all blended in well together.

4. Give your Foundation a couple of minutes to dry while you stand back and check it over once more, when it's dry i find you should use a pressed powder in a natural shade that matches your skin tone and the foundation you have just used they don't cost much around 拢2 thats all, Using a large blusher brush gently get some powder in your brush then blow ever so gently on the brush or flick the brush away from you (this is to get rid of any excess powder if there is to much on the brush) then gently dust or sweep across your face and repeat this a couple of times this is to 'SET' the foundation making it last longer and to give a more 'Flawless' look to the face.

4. Next i do my eyes, (i don't do this but some people i know do.....some people gently dab some loose make-up face powder under their eyes and don't blend it in this is because when you applu your eyeshadow loose bits of eyesshadow colour may fall onto your face messing up your foundation you have just applied then they blend the loose powder away after they have finished their eyeshadow) use an eyeshadow bruch to apply eyeshadow choose which ever colour you want to use and then gently sweep it over your eyelids if you want a smokey eye effect you can look up how to get this effect on the internet what i do is apply a natural looking colour eyeshadow to my lids then get a slightly darker coloured shadow and apply this just inside the crease of my eye (the eye-socket under your eyebrow bone).

You can apply eyeliner to if you want or a more dramatic look not too much though unless you want the gothic look you can apply it to the top of your eyes using a n liquid eyeliner pen or a liquid eyeliner in whater colour you want and the the bottom or your eyes using an eyeliner pencil you can also apply it inder the bottowm eyelashes using an eyeliner Brush too.

5. Next i curl my eyelashes using eyelash vurlers if you don't have these don't worry you don't have to use them but i like to i hold the curler for around 20 to 30 seconds but don't hold too hard and be careful too, then i apply a black waterproof mascara you should use whicever colour you wish i apply this gently trying not to blink for a more 'Dramatic' effect apply mascara to your bottom lashes too but gently as it is hard not to get black dots on your face, you can use a second coat of mascara too if you want to fro a more 'FULL effect' on your eyes you can also buy false lashes like individual lashes where you can just apply them on the outer section of your eye or you can buy full lashes you can buy them in different styles coulours and sizes and some even have gems on them for a fucky glamorous effect too most are already stciky and ready to use but some also come with eyelash glue and instructions you can also watch videos or read how to apply them on the inernet (this is how i found out about them and leanrd how to use them) it's a little tricky to apply them at first but you soon get the hang of it.

6. next i apply a pink or bronze Blusher to my cheekbones or the apples of my cheeks (the easy way to do this is to smile while looking in the mirror then apply the colour to the parts of your cheeks that 'Stand out' don't apply too much just enough and if you use a broze colour don't go overboard no'one likes the 'Youv'e been tango'd' look lol you can use either a cream blusher or a pressed power blusher i find the powder ones easier you can use different colours like pink, apricots, light bronzes-golds.

7.next is my favourite part The Lips, first i find it]s easier to make sure you have brushed your teeth before hand so that you don't do all your lips up nice and lovely then ruin them because you forgot to brush your teeth before hand lol, If you are using a lipstick you should really use a lipstcik bruch as it makes lipstick last longer and gives a btter effect but i use a Natural coloured lipstick so i don't bother with the lip brush too often if you are using a a lipgloss just allpy normally or you can use a lip brush again if you want to apply the gloss over the lipstick you can also use a lipliner as a lipstick colouring all the lip in it then go over it with a natural clear gloss it works the same as lipstick.

Juat some general things:

Don't go over-board with the mascara no'one likes the spider eyes look where all the eyelasher are clumped together.

Don't go overboard on the Bronzer No'one likes to look like and orange.

Change your make-up every 3 months atleast your foundation and mascara as these tend to 'Go off' and change colour.

Change your Make-up tools like Make-up Brushes for instance every so ofter like every 6 to 7 months as they get worn out also don't forget to wash them now and again as they get dirty after so long.

I have a rule where i don't go to dramatic with the make-up unless i am going somewhere at night i like to go more natural in the day-time as it is a 'Cleaner look' also i always say 'Either eyes or lips' meaning that i either do my lips in a dramtic 'Stand out' colour and make my eyes natural or make my eyes 'Stand out' and go for a more natural lip colour.

also it is said that if your not confident about your teeth and if you think they are a little yellow then don't use a peach colour on your LIPS as this makes them appear more yellow.

Don't be afraid to use colour but don't go over-board but don't just go with the crowd go on the internet or look in magazines at what celebrities make-up is like.

You don't have to spend a fortune on make-up but don't always go for the cheap stuff treat yourself once in a while but remember just because a magazine or something says a celeb uses this or that doesn't mean that you have to use it too.

Have fun and experiment with make-up dont' be afraid to be different.
start off with a clean face

no oil dirt or whatever..

1. moisturize

2. prime (you dont have to but its better for your skin)

3. foundation, thin layer to even out skin tone

4. conceal (just one or 2 shades lighter than your skin)

5. powder (mac studio fix owder foundations good)

6. blush (blush comes after the powder only if its powder based)

I apply mascara on before eyeshadow cause it gets on my eyelids...which gets covered up by my eyeshadow anyway..

eyeliner goes on after eyeshadow n mascara

and i usually apply lipgloss last.
Yes, but you're best bet is to go to a cosmetics store. MANY will give you a free makeover and show you proper makeup and skin care techniques.
